Overview

Insyte’s 5 day Scrum Team Workshop is based on a case study where participants work together to develop an integrated Agile Scrum approach. Students will learn what it really means to be ‘Agile’ by immersing the audience in a project-centric, hands-on environment. Students will learn that there is no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ solution by learning what makes a project suitable for Agile adoption. Teams will learn by doing; Using Scrum practices, they identify attainable project goals and implement them by the end of the workshop.

During this workshop agile practices are incorporated, such as Iterative Development, Daily Scrum meetings, Unit Testing, and Automated Builds. However, does this make a team ‘Agile’?  Insyte applies the same set of practices across multiple teams to achieve ‘Agility’?

Describe the core Agile values and principles

• Understand what makes a project suitable for

Agile adoption

• Apply Agile implementations such as Scrum and

XP

• Identify the roles on a Scrum project

• Create a product vision and establish a team

• Identify, prioritize, and estimate project goals

• Populate and groom a product backlog

• Plan for releases

• Plan for sprints

 • Create a Sprint backlog

• Report status and track progress

• Execute a Sprint demo

• Execute a Sprint retrospective

• Track and manage requirements in an agile

manner

• Identify acceptance criteria for project goals

• Implement tasks using Test Driven Development

• Apply refactoring techniques to existing code

• Work in a Continuous Integration environment

Anyone involved with software development.

This class has no prerequisites.
